Dr. Roy Thompson

Dr. Thompson graduated from the University of Tennessee’s College of Dentistry in Memphis in 1978. Since that time he has practiced general dentistry as a Murfreesboro TN dentist. Over time he has developed a reputation for the comprehensive level of care given to patients and quite often is called on to help patients needing major or complex restoration on their mouth. This level of care has continued with Dr. Thompson being trained to administer Invisalign, place & restore implants, and offer sedation services to his patients.

Through the years Dr. Thompson has been extremely active in community affairs and in his dental association. He has been past President of the Murfreesboro Kiwanis Club and the United Way of Rutherford County. He has remained involved with the Sigma Chi Fraternity at Middle Tennessee State University over the thirty years he’s lived in Murfreesboro. Dr. Thompson has served as President of the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry and the Tennessee Dental Association and is currently a Trustee on the Board of the American Dental Association representing the states of KY, WV, MO and TN. He has helped obtain funding for the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Rutherford County which opened in February 2012 and provides comprehensive dental care for low income working adults.

He is a member of the Murfreesboro Rotary Club and is a volunteer dentist for the Dental Lifeline Network. Roy and Margrey, his wife of forty years, have three children. They attend North Boulevard Church of Christ where he has served as Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee and a Sunday school class leader.
